30 Day Challenges for Educators

I'm a list maker.  Keeping my ADD mind on track is a struggle.  There are so many things I want to try and so many things I want to remember to incorporate in my classroom.  This blog is my ultimate list.  It gives me a place to catalog all of the innovative ideas I run across.  Maybe you'll find it useful as well.

I've found that 30 Day Challenges have helped me remember to try new things.  It doesn't hurt that I'm also a bit competitive.  30 Day Challenges encourage me to be competitive with myself...is that a thing?  Maybe it's better said that it helps me grow.  I print them off and keep them next to my keyboard.  Here are a few that I have either used or plan to use.

The 30 Day Happy Teacher Challenge from Presto Plans - This is a great one for mid year to help encourage you through the rest of the year.  I've used it for years.  Sometimes we share it as a school and other times, I just do it on my own.  Give it a try and let me know how you liked it.

Do you Teach Like a Pirate?  Ditch That Textbook has a 30 Day Pirate Challenge for trying different hooks to transform your teaching.  Want to go further?  Read Teach Like A Pirate by Dave Burgess.

Everyday Abiding has a 30 days of Prayer for Teachers to use to prepare for the new school year.  I don't know about you, but I can use all the help I can get.

After working through your own 30 Day Challenges, why not share the fun with your students?  Secondary Sara shares some helpful tips and ideas from Teaching a 30-Day Challenge.

Ok, ok, so it's not actually a 30-day challenge, but I did a 12 days of Techmas this year and learned SO MUCH.  Tech Fabulous shares 12 slides.  You can find others by just searching 12 days of techmas.  You don't have to wait til December.  Go ahead and look through them today.

So, maybe not all challenges are 30 days.  Give this 20 Day Twitter Challenge by Angela LaPlante a try.  One of the reasons this blog exists is Twitter.  There are so many great ideas out there!

If you would like to up the rigor in your challenges, subscribe to 30 Day Teacher.   You have no choice but to grow as a teacher working through their daily challenges.

Have you tried any of these challenges?  Are their other challenges that helped you grow as an educator?  I'd love to hear your feedback.
